Actor Rajesh Hamal and ‘Hasiya’ producer Milan Chams climbed Stonedon mountain in UK and displayed the posted of the upcoming movie on the top. Although it is termed the highest mountain in Wales, the 3,560 ft (1,085 m) mountain is more like a stone hill than a mountain.
On top of the mountain Rajesh Hamal and the team featured posters of ‘Hasiya’. Rajesh Hamal and ‘Hasiya’ team is currently in the UK to premier the movie and promote it.
The ‘Kabaddi’ production unit and distributors have withdrawn the movie from Gopi Krishna theater in Chabahil. The producer and distributors took the step when the theater owner, Uddav Poudel, refused to provide high capacity theaters for the movie. The first show of the movie went in Shivaya and Radha halls. These halls have capacities of 200 viewers each.
According to report, both the halls were houseful and some viewers had returned back when they couldn’t get the ticket of the movie. ‘Kabaddi’ producer Nischal Basnet and others demanded the higher capacity hall like Krishna hall. The higher viewer capacity hall showing Hindi movie ‘Two States’ is told to have very low density viewers.
Two new movies are releasing on Friday, April 25 in theaters all over Nepal. The debut movie of Aryan Sigdel as a co-producer, ‘November Rain’ and comedy movie ‘Kabaddi’ are going to compete with each other. Both movies have good artists with potential.
‘November Rain’ features Namrata Shrestha, Aryan Sigdel, Chhulthim Gurung, Keshav Bhattarai, Hiuwala Gautam etc. The movie directed by Dinesh Raut had received a good publicity since the start. Right after his marriage, Aryan has started the publicity of the movie. Although Namrata Shrestha has been sick and is resting in Pokhara, other artists are teamed up to promote the movie.

On the occasion of the Nepali New Year, the first look poster of Arpan Thapa‘s debut movie as director, ‘Mukhauta’ was released in a program held in Kathmandu.
‘Mukhauta’ features well known actors like Rajesh Hamal, Nisha Adhikari, Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, Harshika Shrestha, Prasant Tamrakar, Dayahang Rai, Robin Tamang, and Sunil Thapa in main roles. The movie made under the banner of Reef Entertainment is produced by Rabin Shrestha. Rabin had studied film studies in Singapore and is running a restaurant in Kathmandu. Although Rabin had worked as a cameraman in ‘Mokshya’ he has only sung songs in his own production.
The poster of action movie ‘Himmatwali’ was released on the New Year – 2071. The movie initially directed by Shyam Bhattarai was replaced by actress and producer Rekha Thapa herself. Rekha is accused of using Shyam Bhattarai to shot the most difficult parts of the movie and sending him away after that.
Taking the cue of the success of her previous movie ‘Kali‘ which was released in Dashain festival, the new movie is also scheduled to release on Dashain festival.
After 5 years of absence from the film industry, Alok Nembang is returning in upcoming movie ‘Ajhai Pani’. The love story movie is to be jointly produced by Sudarshan Thapa Production and Poonam Gautam.
In addition to being the producer and a well known director, Sudarshan Thapa will be featured in the leading role in the movie. Actress Pooja Sharma (‘Madhumash‘ fame actress) will be featured opposite to Sudarshan. Talking about the movie, Pooja said, "The best of me is yet to come, in the upcoming movie Ajhai Pani."
This week two new movies ‘Nai Nabhannu La 2’ and ‘Manle Manlai Chhunchha’ are released in theaters all over Nepal.
‘Manle Manlai Chhunchha’ is the last movie of the late director Shiva Regmi. The movie made under Miracle Media banner features Biren Shrestha, Garima Pant, Suman Singh, Mithila Sharma, Sirjana Basnet etc. in main roles. The movie features the cinematography of Shambu Sapkota, editing of Banish Shah, and music of Basanta Sapkota.
The audio of upcoming movie of Aryan Sigdel and Namrata Shrestha, ‘November Rain’ was launched in a press meet organized on April 8. In the event actor and producer Aryan Sigdel and Namrata talked about the movie and the singers sang the songs too. ‘November Rain’ features only three songs.

Aryan Sigdel had produced the movie with producer Subash Giri. Subash told that the movie is made on a heart touching story and he expected the movie to make a record breaking collection.
The team of the movie scheduled to released on Baisakh 19, ‘Maya Gara La’ hasn’t been able to reach actress Richa Singh Thakuri for the publicity of the movie. The availability of the actress for the publicity is considered critical on the success of the movie.
By the way the unavailability of the actress has been publicized, it is more about defaming the actress than the publicity of the movie. We suspect, the movie team wants to create controversy over the actress to promote the movie. It started when the director Madan Ghimire has asked a journalist to help find his actress before the release of the movie.
This Friday, April 4 three new Nepali movies were released. Shabir Shrestha‘s ‘Aadhi Bato’, Deepak Shrestha‘s ‘Wrong Way’ and Manish Pantha’s ‘Divorce’ were released in theaters.
‘Adhi Bato’ features actors Yash Kumar, Jenisha KC, Sabin Shrestha and Anu Shah in main roles. The movie made on triangular love story is made popular by catching music. The controversy of actress Jneisha KC and her relationship with the producer Ramesh Twayna has also helped in the promotion of the movie.
After the completion of the shooting of ‘Naike’ Aryan Sigdel is starting another movie named ‘Alvida’. The movie produced by Aryan’s close friend Hasan Khan will feature Aryan, Hansan himself and actress Anita Acharya in main roles. In addition to being the producer and actor, Hasan has also written the story of the movie. Anita Acharya was skeptical of doing the movie until she read the story and liked it.
The sequel movie of ‘Nai Nabhannu La’ named ‘Nai Nabhannu La 2’ is releasing on Chitra 29 (April 11, 2014). On April 3, a press meet was organized in Kathmandu to disseminate the information about the movie and the cast and crew. In the press meet, actress Priyanka Karki introduced the cast and crew of the movie.

The success of the movie at the time when majority of Nepali movies have failed to recover their investment is an indication that there is still a market for good movies in Nepal.

The movie in theater ‘Fitkiree’ team has given Rs. 137,000 to the Nepali Cricket Team as promised earlier. The movie team had promised to award the cricket players Rs. 20,000 for every sixer and Rs. 3,000 for every four and wickets.
In a program organized in Kathamndu, ‘Fitkiree’ team handed over the cash to the captain of Team Nepal, Paras Khadka. The film producer Arjun Kumar expressed happiness to get an opportunity to honor the cricket team.
