Miss Purwanchal 2015 is Priyanka Shrestha

18-years-old Priyanka Shrestha from Biratnagar, Priyanka Shrestha has won the Miss Purwanchal 2015 crown in the finale held in Dharan. In the event, Anu Rai, a 20-years old beauty of Dharan was crowned the first runner up and Pramisha Bajracharya of Damak, Jhapa was crowned the second runner up.

After winning the crown, Priyanka was awarded a scooty and an opportunity to travel to Hong Kong. In addition to the crown, Priyanka was also the Miss Public Choice. A student of Charter Accountant course, Priyanka is also appointed the ambassador of the Hotel Association of Bhedetar, Asara Sudhar Kendra and Budhasubba Gold Cup. Priyanka has told that she will devote her life in social work and promotion of tourism in the Eastern Nepal.

Namrata Shrestha and Aryan Sigdel to be blind in Classic

The actors of the successful movie of 2071 BS, ‘November Rain’ are being repeated in the movie by the same team, ‘Classic’. The cast and the crew of the movie was officially announced on the last day of 2071. The movie to be produced jointly by actor Aryan Sigdel and Subash Giri will be directed by Dinesh Raut. Actress Namrata Shrestha will be featured opposite to Aryan.

‘Classic’ is being made on the story of Chetan Gurung and music of Taraprakash Limbu. Rajesh Shrestha will be the cinematographer, Himal KC will be fight director, the choreography of Nitin Chand and editing of Surendra Poudel. Kamal Giri is the executive producer of the movie. In the announcement ceremony the director Dinesh Raut told that he movie will be a musical love story. He also told that the movie will also help the blind children. According to report, most of the characters in the movie will have blind and Aryan and Namrata will also be featured as blind people in most of the movie. With Aryan and Namrata other actors in the movie include Shishir Rana, Samuna KC, Prajwal Giri, Sunil Rawal, Sushil Kafle and Pal Shah.

The success and the failure of a movie is also determined by the success or failure of the music and soundtrack of the movie. For that reason, the film makers allocate considerable amount of resources in the music composition and the preparation of the music videos. On the occasion of the New Year 2072, we have compiled the top 5 movie songs of the year.

Out of 84 movies released in 2071, only a few movies were successful in the year and some had catchy music and others didn’t.

1. Jalama of ‘Resham Filili’

One of the songs of the upcoming movie ‘Resham Filili’ titled ‘Jalama …’ became a super hit song of the year. The official music video of the lyrical soundtrack is yet to be released. Various cover versions and duplicate music videos of the song are prepared all over the world. The film makers have decided not to release the official music video until the release of the movie.

Binita Baral out of Chapali Height sequel, search going on for new actress

The Chapali Girl, the actress of ‘Chapali Height‘, actress Binita Baral is out of the sequel of the movie ‘Chabali height 2’. According to the producer Arjun Kumar has told that he had kicked her out of the movie because of her ego problem. But, Binita says that she has chosen not to do the movie. According to a report in an online portal, Arjun Kumar is looking for a new face to replace Binita Baral in the sequel. The relationship between Arjun Kumar and Binita had also turned sour over the cover design of the movie (read the height of controversy over ‘Chapali Height‘). The government had objected the nudity in the cover and was asked to change it. The order had cost the film makers some Rs. 250,000 to redesign and reprint the posters.

Bracelet shooting starts in Pokhara

The shooting of the movie featuring Ramesh Upreti has started in Pokhara. The shooting started by worshiping at Bindhyabasini temple. After shooting at the temple, the team went to Water Front Resort for the remaining shooting. Ramesh Upreti will join the members of the production team in the shooting in Pokhara on Monday.

The shooting of the movie is scheduled to be done in locations in and around Pokhara, Tanahun and Kathmandu. The movie being directed by Nirmal Sharma ‘Gaida’ features actors like Ramesh Upreti, Sugam Guragain, Namrata Sapkota, Rajani KC, Sambridhi Mainali and Jaya Ojha. Jaya has also written the script of the movie.

Shree Krishna Shrestha

The death of actor Shree Krishna Shrestha was a very unexpected and hurtful death in the Nepali film industry. Shree Krishna died within a month of his marriage to actress Sweta Khadka. He died a day after the release of his home production movie ‘Kohinoor’. Shree Krishna had an image of lover-boy and a good dancer in the movies. He was liked by viewers and colleagues. Both of his home production movies ‘Kaha Bhetiyela’ (watch ‘Kaha Bhetiyela’ here) and ‘Kohinoor’ were super hit movies.

Resh Marahatta got engaged to Asmi Adhikari, Yama Buddha sister

Actor and producer Resh Marahatta has got engaged to Asmi Adhikari in an event organized on April 11, 2015. The lovers of the last three years, Asmi and Resh exchanged rings in the family gathering held at Hotal Himalaya.

According to report, Asmi is going to the USA to start her studies towards a PhD degree in Genetics. 24-years-old Asmi is the youngest singer of popular rap singer Yama Buddha (Anil Adhikari). Asmi had completed her Masters degree in Sikkim University.

Bindaas 3 shooting starts, another team up of Raju Giri and Suvekshya Thapa

The chemistry between the director Raju Giri and actress/producer Suvekshya Thapa has has been quite good these days. After making ‘Tiger the Real Hero’, these two had teamed up in the production of ‘Makmali’. And now, it is the hot ‘Bindaas’ sequel ‘Bindaas 3’ even before the completion of the shooting of ‘Makhamali’.

Raju had directed previous two sequels of ‘Bindaas’ but Suvekshya wasn’t involved in any of them. Now, Suvekshya seem to be featured in place of the hot actress of previous sequels, Sushma Karki. No Smoking in dubbing, featuring Jharana, Mahima and Sushil Pokharel

The second movie of the journalist Suman Dahal as the director, ‘No Smoking’ is currently in dubbing stage. The movie made on the bad stuffs in the society teaches youth in their social responsibility. The dubbing of the movie is currently going in Red Studio. According to the director the dubbing, coloring and background music is undergoing at the same time.

The movie featuring Jharana Thapa, Ramesh Budhathoki, Sushil Pokharel, Mahima Silwal, Dinesh Devkota, Amrita Pandey and Bidhya Karki in main roles. The release date of the movie is not known now.

Resham Filili production team meets the press

A press meet was organized at at Tripureshowr to inform about the movie ‘Resham Filili’ on April 9, 2015. In the program the full team of the movie met the pres and talked about the most talked about movie of the current time. In addition to the talk of the super-hit song of the movie ‘Jaalam…’ the team also unveiled the movie poster.

The comedy movie to release on the second week of the new year 2072 BS (on April 24, 2015) features Vinay Shrestha, Karma, Menuka Pradhan, Kameshowr Chaurasiya, Arun Regmi and Ashutosh Shrestha in main roles. The movie is produced by Vinay Shrestha in association with Madhav Wagle.

Year in review – Hit and miss in year 2071 (video)

The year 2071 started on the midway of of April 2014 and will end mid way of April 2015. In the twelve months in between, there were 81 new Nepali movies released in theater. That is a lot less than more than 100 releases in the year before. Out of the releases only a few had succeeded in winning the hearts of the viewers.

The year started with no new movie released on the first Friday. Both the movies released on the second Friday, on April 25, ‘November Rain’ and ‘Kabaddi’ were liked by the viewers.

Friday Release – Seto Bagh, Hawaldar Suntali, Nai Nabhannu La 3

All three of the this Friday’s new release movies are most awaited movies of the year. A historical movie made on popular novel by Diamond Shumsher Rana, ‘Seto Bagh’ appeals to everybody with a little interest in history. Nir Shah has proven his ability in historical movie by making ‘Basanti’. Know to produce hit movie, Chhabi Raj Ojha‘s movie ‘Hawaldar Suntali’ and the third sequel of ‘Nai Nabhannu La’ series are also expected to be liked by the viewers. These movies are releasing in theaters all over Nepal on April 10, 2015.

Chhabi camp’s most awaited movie ‘Hawaldar Suntali’ is based on the story of a real person, Suntali Dhami. Suntali was raped by her colleagues in Nepal Police. Three of the accused were jailed when found guilty. The movie however seem to be more commercial than a biography. It was a surprising revelation that the actress who played Suntali Dhami in the film hasn’t met the real Suntali so far. It seems, the director and the producers didn’t want Shilpa Pokhrel to meet the person who she was supposed to play in the movie.

One of the dance videos on the song by Australian amateur artists had also became viral. The official music video of the movie however has been delayed until the movie is released in theater.

‘Resham Fililli’ features actors Vinay Shrestha, Kameshwor Chaurasiya, Menuka Pradhan, Shisheer Bangdel, Karma, Arun Regmi and others. The movie written and directed by Pranab Joshi is produced by Madhav Wagle. The movie is told to have recovered the investment by selling the rights of the movie before it is released on Baisakh 11, 2072.

Here are the songs of upcoming new movie ‘Chankhe Shankhe Pankhe’. The first movie of Asusen Films, is produced by Sontesh Sen. The movie is directed by Sudarshan Thapa. Sudarshan is known for his directing some successful movies like ‘Mero Euta Sathi Chha’ (click to watch ‘Mero Euta Sathi Chha’), Madhumash (click here to watch ‘Madhumash’), Dhanda (click here to watch ‘Dhanda’).
