Ko Afno to release with Karishma Manandhar film Fagu on Feb 19
In a program held at CTC Mall on January 20, 2016, the trailer of upcoming movie, ‘Ko Afno’ was released and the the release date was announced. The movie produced and directed by Anil Thapa is releasing on the the date  Karishma Manandhar‘s production comeback movie ‘Fagu’ is being released.

In ‘Ko Afno’ the lead actress Richa Sharma is featured in unconventional non-glamorous appearance. In the launch program, Richa told that the movie is a combination of artistic and commercial contents.
Zhigrana, do crime thriller appeal Nepali audience?
In recent times a number of movies are made into thriller and horror genre. Movies like ‘Soul Sister‘, ‘Tandav‘, ‘Mukahuta‘, ‘Chhadke‘ and likes are trying to scare the viewers and create an uneasy suspense for the entertainment of the viewers. But, are the Nepali people ready for such type of thriller movies? The question is not easy to answers. But, based on the track record, the movies that appeal the most viewers in Nepal are the masala films with love, romance, suspense, and entertainment. A trailer of a new movie ‘Zhigrana’ was recently released and it seems the film also follows the same trend with a bit of sex and kiss scene added in it. Will it appeal the audience? We will know in less than a month when it is released in theater in March.
The Nepali movie scheduled to release in theater on March 6, 2015, ‘Zhigrana’ seem to contain a bit of racy scenes in addition to violence and blood. The kissing and bed scenes shown in the promotional trailer of the film features actor Nikun Shrestha and Menuka Pradhan is intimate cuddling and sex.
The trailer gives an impression that the film is full of suspense and terror in the journey of seven friends. In addition to the story and suspense, the film makers are also try to cash on the sex scenes.
2014, the year of celebrity marriages
UPDATE on July 12 Five more marriages were held in July. We had talked about the three marriages at the end of this post. Two additional marriages include that of Sweta Bhattarai, Prakriti Shrestha. Mithila Sharma married Motilal Bohara in an un-announced event among close friends only. Sweta Khadka marries Shree Krishna Shrestha and Diya Maskey marries Anup Baral in public functions, Sweta Bhattarai marries Milan Sapkota secretly and another unannounced marriage was that of Prakriti Shrestha and Sudeep Neupane.
UPDATE on June 27 Richa Singh Thakuri married to an Australian NRN, Gajendra Thapa, on Ashad 6 (June 20). The news about their marriage was released a few weeks earlier.

It seems, the year 2014 is going to the year of celebrity marriages. It started with actress Bhawana Regmi marrying in January. The celebrity marriages, so far in 2014, are:
Bhawana Regmi marriage
The daughter of late director Shiva Regmi got married in January, a month after her father’s death. The marriage of ‘So Simple’ actress was a low profile marriage in family mourning the death of her father.
Shankar BC and Nisha Sunar marriage
We don’t know the exact date of this marriage between choreographer and dancer Shankar BC and singer Nisha Sunar. The couple shared their secret marriage photo in February 2014 right after Nisha went to USA. In the USA, Nisha also gave birth to a child within a month of the marriage announcement. Shankar has a family of his own in Nepal and it was the third marriage of Nisha.
The marriage doesn’t make much as Shankar is living in Nepal and Nisha living in USA. A month after the birth of the child, Nisha has started working in a restaurant in the USA.
Seesha to release on August 8
In a press meet held in Kathmandu, Nepali movie ‘Sheesha’ to inform about the movie and announce the release date – August 8 (Shrawn 23). The movie directed by RBK Sharad features actors like Jiwan Luitel, Sharmila Malla, Shanti Giri, Uma Baby, Ragini Khadgi, Nirmal Senchuri etc. in main roles.

Shanti Giri marries cinematographer Shailendra Karki
‘Fitkiree’ actress Shanti Giri has married cinematographer Shailendra Karki in a ceremony held on March 9, 2014. The ceremony wasn’t publicized and was held among close family and friends.
Busy after the marriage, Shanti Giri didn’t showed up in the press meet of ‘Fitkiree’ held on March 13. The movie unit was invited to the marriage held in Balaju.
Oleanna – a strong ‘split role’ play
A play on the issue of sexually harassing behaviors in schools, colleges and universities, Oleanna, was featured in Moksh Live, Jhamsikhel by One World Theatre in collaboration with Actors’ Studio. The first set of shows were featured on December 2, 3 and 4th and it will again be shown on 9-11 December. Based on the original play of playwright David Mamet, it is directed by Deborah Merola.
