About ‘Kanchhi’

Super hit Nepali movie ‘Kanchhi’ was released in 1984 and had celebrated 101 days in theater.  The story and the script of the movie was written by the director BS Thapa and was produced under the banner of Om Production.

The movie features the cinematography of Ramchandra (camera by Rustam Engineer, Balu T Sawant and Murari Thakur.) The action is coordinated by Gopal Bhutani, Kishor Rana is the chief assistant director, Manohari Singh has arranged the background music, dialogue by Chetan Karki, choreography of Basanta Rayamajhi, editing by K. Nanda, and music by Gopal Yonjan. The story and the script of the movie is written by the director, BS Thapa.

About ‘Dhoom’

The original ‘Dhoom’ of Nepali film industry was made by Jaya Kishan Basnet. A brother of the director, Shovit Basnet is the actor, story writer and script writer of the movie. The movie features action star Biraj Bhatt, Ramit Dhungana and Arjun Karki in leading role. The actress in the movie, Rejina Upreti was reportedly having affair with the director at that time (but, it was not officially confirmed.) Rejina is now married and has a child. Other actresses in the movie include Jenny Kunwar and Sanjita Gurung.

Mela, Romeo, Tandro and Sakas – 4 new releases this Friday

On November 10, 2017 four new Nepali movies have released in theatre. It is a very competitive release for some of the highly expected movies in the film industry. All single word named movies – ‘Meela’, ‘Tyandro’, ‘Sakash’ and ‘Romeo’ will sustain a damage because of the competition among each other. In terms of the star cast, none of the movie should be missed. ‘Mela’ has Salon Basnet, Amesh Bhandari and Ashishma Nakarmi; ‘Romeo’ has Oshima Banu, Nisha Adhikari and Melina Manandhar to watch for; ‘Tyandro’ features Dayahang Rai and is directed by Samten Bhutiya; ‘Sakash’ has Sushma Karki and Mahima Silwal with Wilson Bikram Rai.

The cinematographer is Babu Shrestha, music by Taraprakash Limbu / Tek Nanda Lama, concept by Nilu Doma Sherpa, and written by Shan Basnyat.

The movie ‘Punte Parade’ was released in September of 2014. In addition to dancing in the item song, Priyanka had also choreographed the song.

Shweta’s Kanchhi to compete with Anmol’s Kri in Valentine

The release date of upcoming movie of Anmol KC ‘Kri’ has been finalized for Magh 26 (February 9). The date is the same date in which, Shweta Khadka’s comeback movie ‘Kanchhi’ was previously finalized. It these two movies are released in the same day, it would be a huge clash for them as both of them are the most awaited movies of the current time.

I had prepared a video report of Shweta’s movie ‘Kanchhi’ yesterday about how the song of the movie is setting record viewership.

About ‘Kri’

The release date of ‘Kri’ was was announced by the producer Subash Giri in Facebook after the completion of the shooting of the movie in Pokhara.

Bikini photos of 10 Miss Nepal Earth from 2009 to 2017

Although there is no bikini round in Miss Nepal beauty contest, the winners of the contest have to wear them when they participate in international beauty contests. Earlier, I talked about bikini rounds in Miss Nepal, now it is time to talk about the bikini rounds in Miss Nepal Earth, the runner-ups of Miss Nepal contest. As of 2017, there were 14 Nepali representatives to the contest.

I have collected the bikini photos of all the contestants from 2009 to 2017 and searching the remaining photos. I will update the post as soon as I find their photos. For now, here are bikini photos of most of the contestants from Nepal in Miss Earth from Miss Earth 2009 to Miss Earth 2017:

Hotter than Sunny Leone, Anmol’s actress Aditi Budhathoki featured in ABP News, India

A popular Hindi news channel’s online edition, ABP News, has featured Nepali actress Aditi Budhathoki and has termed her “hotter than” Bollywood sensation Sunny Leone. Featuring some of the hottest photos of the actress’s photos the website has told that she has a lot of potential although Bollywood doesn’t have any shortage of boldness.

In one of the photos the Indian media writes, “Actresses like Sunny Leone set fire in Bollywood. But, today we are going to introduce yo to a heroine who can beat the Bollywood beauty easily,” and it adds, “Yes, we are talking about Nepali actress Aditi Budhathoki.”

The news website that started as Star News in 2004, was rebranded ABP News in 2012. But, like all other Indian news website, the information it has given about Aditi is incomplete. It says that Aditi is featured in a number of Nepali movies. But in fact, Aditi’s debut movie ‘Kri’ featuring Anmol KC hasn’t released yet. The shooting of the movie is still going on and is expected to complete in a couple of weeks.

First Beauty contest with Swimsuit round in Nepal, Miss Kathmandu 2017

A beauty contest has broken the unwritten rule in Nepali entertainment industry – no swimsuit or bikini round in beauty contest. The contest titled Miss Kathmandu organized a swimsuit round for Miss Best Figure title. The photos and the details of the contest was however kept a secret among the organizers and the contestant. The only photo I could find of the contest is the one published in Kantipur’s Saptahik. The Facebook page of the contest doesn’t even mention the Best Figure contest.

One of the most popular actor in the Nepali film industry is Dayahang Rai. Known for his down-to-earth nature and natural acting talent, Dayahang is considered unconventional hero in the film industry. Dayanag is married to Benuka Rai, a singer by profession. Shristi Shrestha denied Bollywood debut rumour, did Priyanka Karki steal her role?

There was a rumour about Miss Nepal 2012, Shristi Shrestha, to debut in a Bollywood movie. The rumour was about her role in a movie titled ‘Sandeep Aur Pinki Farar’, planned to be shot in Nepal and made under Yashraj Banner. But, the actress has denied the rumour and has told that it was a false information. In the Facebook she wrote, “Information might be power but disinformation is abuse of the power.”

According to report, Shristi had gone to Mumbai for the audition of the movie. She left the shooting of ‘Romeo and Muna’ in East Nepal to go to Mumbai. But, before the production banner made the decision of the audition, the rumour was released in media. The actress was stressed out when she received numerous congratulatory messages. She finally wrote a message that the news of her debuting in Bollywood was false. She wrote, “Dear supporters, I would like to inform you all that the recent news stating that I am debuting in Indian cinema right now is false. Please do not misled or misinformed.”

Although Shristi has told it to be false, some believe that she has already landed in the role in the Bollywood movie.

Friday Release – Fateko Jutta and Dhanwan

Two new Nepali movies has released in theatre on Friday, November 3, 2017. One is an awaited movie featuring well known actors, ‘Fateko Jutta’ and another is never-heard-of film, ‘Dhanwan’. In addition to new movies, the last week’s release, ‘Aishwarya’ is also running strong in theatre.

About ‘Fateko Jutta’

The movie is considered one of the most awaited movies of the year because of the star cast and a successful song. The trailer and the song titled ‘I am sorry..’ were well received by the audience. The movie produced by the producer of ‘Chapali Height’ sequels, Arjun Kumar, is directed by Nikesh Khadka. The movie features Saugat Malla, Priyanka Karki, Kemshwor Chaurasiya, Anoj Pandey etc. in main role. Actor Dayahang Rai is featured in a cameo role. Daya’s role was kept a secret by the film makers. How Gyanendra is left alone in election?

Although Gyanendra had told that he was ready to take the leadership role, she hasn’t shown any sign of leadership. A leader is a person who consolidate people in a group and motivate it to follow him/her. But, Gyanendra isn’t seen doing that. It seems, he is doing the opposite. The party that supported him, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, got divided into two parties. One of them joined the ruling party, Nepali Congress and is running election in association with the party. Nepali Congress is one of the main force that had ended monarchy in Nepal.
