Actress Pooja Sharma cut the birthday cake on April 30 in an event held in Kathmandu. The press meet organized to inform about upcoming movie ‘Ajhai Pani’ was also the birthday celebration ceremony. Talking at the event, Pooja told that the movie is her birthday gift.

‘Ajhai Pani’ features two well known directors – Alok Nembang and Sudarshan Thapa. Alok will direct the movie and Sudarshan will be featured in the leading role. With Sudarshan and Pooja the movie will also feature Surakshya Pant, Puspa Pant, and Bishal Dhungana. Actors Mithila Sharma, Bijaya Lama and Ramsharan Pathak will also have guest roles in the movie.

On the occasion of Mother’s Day, a music video featuring actress Sanchita Luitel was released. The mother of two is featured as a mother in the comeback music video. The video also features Sanchita’s son Arthav and daughter Sahisha.

The music video directed by a journalist of Kantipur Saptahik, Bidur Khatiwada features a story of a mother whose children have gone to a foreign country.

A dark comedy, Nepali movie ‘Kabaddi’ is a movie by Ram Babu Gurung featuring Dayahang Rai, Nischal Basnet, and Rishma Gurung in lead roles. Other actors in the movie include Rajan Khatiwada, Bijay Baral, and Buddhi Tamang. The presentation of Black Horse Pictures, the movie is made on the story, screenplay and the direction of Ram Babu Gurung. Cinematographer Purushottam Pradhan has shot the movie, Govinda Rai was the choreographer and Neelima Sharma had designed the costume. The movie is jointly produced by Nischal Basnet and Sunil Chand Rauniyar.

Story

‘Kabaddi’ is a story of Bir Kaji (Dayahang Rai) who lives in a village named Naurikot. Most of the young guys of Naurikot have already left for foreign employments and most of those who are left are also planning to leave the place. Kaji in contrast is aimless in such terms. All he wants is to get married to his maternal cousin Maiya (Rishma Gurung). Maiya however runs away from every romantic advances of Kaji. Kaji’s friends (played by Bijaya Baral and Buddhi Tamang) back Kaji in every tactics he applies to get Maiya’s approval.

1-month-pregnant Nisha Sunar to start singing in a restaurant in USA

Singer Nisha Sunar gave birth to a daughter of choreographer Shankar BC in the USA. It was Nisha’s third marriage and second one of Shankar. In the USA, Nisha is going to start singing in a Nepali restaurant, Chautari Restaurant. A new management of the restaurant located at Jackson Height, New York, is going to feature singers like Yam Baral and Nisha Sunar.

The restaurant will feature live dohori songs on every weekends starting on Friday evenings to Sundays. While folk singer Bimal Dangi and Nisha Sunar sing lok dohori, Yam Baral sings songs and ghazals in the restaurant.

Shilpa Pokharel in the path to become the new Rekha Thapa, signed Hawaldar Suntali

Yes, Shilpa had told that before – she is going to be the new Rekha Thapa. The latest news about Shilpa Pokharel signing up Chhabi Raj Ojha‘s upcoming movie ‘Hawaldar Suntali’ indicates the she might be destined to be Chhabi’s actress of choice. Shilpa debuted in the movie industry in Chhabi’s movie ‘Lazza’. She has been signed up in another of his movie before the release of the debut one.

With Shilpa the movie will also feature Sabin Shrestha and Kishor Khatiwada with Shilpa in leading roles. The movie to be directed by Rishi Lamichane will be shot in location all over Nepal from East to West. The movie is about a police woman working in Achham, Suntali Dhami. Suntali was raped by a group of her colleague police officers.

Rajesh Hamal took Hasiya poster on the top of Stonedon mountain

Actor Rajesh Hamal and ‘Hasiya’ producer Milan Chams climbed Stonedon mountain in UK and displayed the posted of the upcoming movie on the top. Although it is termed the highest mountain in Wales, the 3,560 ft (1,085 m) mountain is more like a stone hill than a mountain.

On top of the mountain Rajesh Hamal and the team featured posters of ‘Hasiya’. Rajesh Hamal and ‘Hasiya’ team is currently in the UK to premier the movie and promote it.

No Kabaddi at Gopi Krishna, movie withdrawn after the first show (update – moved to Fcube)

The ‘Kabaddi’ production unit and distributors have withdrawn the movie from Gopi Krishna theater in Chabahil. The producer and distributors took the step when the theater owner, Uddav Poudel, refused to provide high capacity theaters for the movie. The first show of the movie went in Shivaya and Radha halls. These halls have capacities of 200 viewers each.

According to report, both the halls were houseful and some viewers had returned back when they couldn’t get the ticket of the movie. ‘Kabaddi’ producer Nischal Basnet and others demanded the higher capacity hall like Krishna hall. The higher viewer capacity hall showing Hindi movie ‘Two States’ is told to have very low density viewers.

Friday Release, November Rain and Kabaddi

Two new movies are releasing on Friday, April 25 in theaters all over Nepal. The debut movie of Aryan Sigdel as a co-producer, ‘November Rain’ and comedy movie ‘Kabaddi’ are going to compete with each other. Both movies have good artists with potential.

‘November Rain’ features Namrata Shrestha, Aryan Sigdel, Chhulthim Gurung, Keshav Bhattarai, Hiuwala Gautam etc. The movie directed by Dinesh Raut had received a good publicity since the start. Right after his marriage, Aryan has started the publicity of the movie. Although Namrata Shrestha has been sick and is resting in Pokhara, other artists are teamed up to promote the movie.

Here are the names of two different films – of two different languages. Can you find the differences between the names in the following photo?

Let me help you – the differences are:

The first movie is in Bhojpuri Language the second is in Nepali language.
You can watch the first movie in full (attached below), the second one will release in Dashain of 2071.
The ‘Himmatwala’ actor is a Nepali hero, Biraj Bhatt and the ‘Himmatwali’ hero is a Nepali actress Rekha Thapa.
The second film name has a “li” at the end.

Apart from that, the name is confusing. It’s not only the name, the fonts used are also similar and the color gradient in the name are also same – red to yellow.

Rekha Thapa found a new boyfriend, Sudhu

The affair between actress Rekha Thapa and the actor of ‘Himmatwali’, Sudarshan Gautam was revealed when Rekha chartered a helicopter to attend a program. Rekha and Sudarshan expressed their love in Facebook posts. In the post the actress addressed Sudarshan by ‘Sudhu’ and Sudarshan called Rekha ‘Kanchu’.

Commenting to a photo of Rekha beside the helicopter Sudarshan said, “Such a very hard to spend a minute without you. I am really sorry to send you far. Miss you so much.” Rekha’s responded by saying, “Thank you. Love you a lot. Take care.”
