Nir Shah, health update

The condition of Nir Shah hasn’t improved in more than a day of admitted in Gangalal Heart Hospital, Bansbari. According to sources, Shah was initially placed in a ventilator in CCU. The ventilator was later replaced by an oxygen mask. The attempt to remove oxygen mask however wasn’t successful and he is in critical condition. Yesterday, we reported it was a minor attack but later, it was known that that wasn’t the case.

According to the doctors attending Shah, they are waiting the situation to improve on its own and have let Shah remain unconscious. If it doesn’t improve in three days, further treatment will be conducted. Senior heart specialist Arun Maskey is helping the treatment of Shah.

Nir Shah hospitalized after a minor heart problem

Nepali actor, director, and a businessman Nir Shah has been admitted to hospital after a heart problem. Our sources have termed the heart problem as a ‘minor’ case.

He was admitted to Gangalal Heart Hospital in Kathmandu on June 28.

In January last year, Nir Shah announced retirement. We questioned his retirement at that time and as we expected he didn’t retire. He has recently completed the shooting of ‘Seto Bagh’ – a movie and a television serial simultaneously.

Friday release, Miss Nepal, Jodi No. 1 and Luki Luki

Three new Nepali movies ‘Miss Nepal’, ‘Jodi No. 1’ and ‘Luki Luki’Â have released in theater in Nepal on Friday May 30, 2014. While ‘Miss Nepal’ had been very controversial and was been a focus of media for some time, other two movies were relatively unheard of.

Miss Nepal

The movie based on beauty contest Miss Nepal is titled ‘Miss Nepal’ and features the producer Suvekshya Thapa as Miss Nepal. The movie directed by Surendra Tuladhar is going to release in ~~23 theaters in Kathmandu and~~ 40 theaters out of Kathmandu. With Suvekshya, the movie also features Sabin Shrestha and Kshitiza Shakya in lead roles.

The movie got in limelight when Miss Nepal organizer Hidden Treasure tried to block it. Suvekshya also posed topless to get the media attention. She had been actively using social media sites to promote the movie and share the poster for the last few months.

Friday release – Damdar, Red Monsoon and Aakal

This Friday, on May 9, three new Nepali movies are releasing in theater. Kamal Krishna movie ‘Damdar’, Eelum Dixit presentation ‘Red Monsoon’ and Nir Shah movie ‘Aakal’ are competing to win the hearts of the Nepali viewers in theaters all over Nepal.

Red Monsoon

Well known theater director Eelum Dixit is debuting in big screen movie in ‘Red Monsoon’. Eelum is a well known director of telefilms and theater plays who had completed bachelor in film acting and direction in New York. The movie is the retelling of a short story titled ‘Sharan’ by Karuna Sharma.

The movie tells the story of struggling young generation in Kathmandu. The movie features Himali Dixit, Sandip Chhetri, Sarita Giri, Shristi Ghimire and Hari Bansha Acharya in main roles. The director Eelum has written the script and dialogue of the movie produced by US film makers.

NAS Film Award ceremony being held in Amsterdam, very few Nepali artists participating

There aren’t any news about a Nepali film award ceremony being held in Amsterdam, Netherland. The International Nepalese Association’s seminar (NAS) and award function is being held at Namaste Restaurnat Hoofddorp on March 29 and 30, 2014.

It seems, the only Nepali actress attending the ceremony is Nisha Adhikari. Uddav Poudel, Nir Shah and Sunil Rawal are among a other few representatives of Nepali film industry attending the seminar and award ceremony.

Shooting of of Seto Bagh going on (photos)

Actor, director and producer Nir Shah‘s upcoming project ‘Seto Bagh’ is being shot in a shooting set in Naxal, Kathamndu. The movie made on the popular book by the same name by Diamond Shumsher Rana is a story of historical events.

The movie features Raja Ram Poudel in the role of the helper of Junga Bahadur and actor BS Rana has been featured in the role of the central character Junga Bahadur Rana. The shooting of the movie featuring a lot of new artist started at the end of February.

Nir Shah to make a movie and a television serial on Seto Bagh

Based on one of the most successful historical novel by Diamond Shumsher Rana, ‘Seto Bagh’, Nir Shah is planning to make a movie and a television serial. On the occasion of Shree Panchami, Nir Shah organized a program to announce the movie and the megha-serial. The shooting of the serial is expected to start in a couple of weeks.

The television serial will be spanned in 91 parts and the movie will be of length 2.5 hours. The shooting of both the serial and the movie will start at the same time. In the program Nir Shah told that he will make the serial and the movie the photocopy of the novel. In the movie, he will also present the last 30 days of the Rana prime minister Jung Bahadur Rana.

NEFTA Award – Aryan Sigdel and Richa Sharma awarded best actors, Kathmandu declared the best movie

In the film award ceremony held in Malaysia, actor Aryan Sigdel won the best actor award from the movie ‘Mero Love Story’. In actress category, the best actress award was awarded to Richa Sharma from the same movie. The best movie award and the best director award was awarded to ‘Kathmandu’ and it’s director Aakash Adhikari respectively.

Actor Nir Shah was honored by ‘Abhinaya Shiromani’ award in the event.

Nagbeli promo video released

The first look of the debut movie of well known choreographer Gobind Rai as a director, ‘Nagbeli’ was released in a program held in Kathmandu. The movie produced by Romian Limbu features Harshika Shrestha, Dayahang Rai, Nir Shah, Vicky Malla, Surabhi Jain, Yashraj Garach, Sambhav Shrestha, Ashok Phuyal, Rupa Rana, Luniva Tuladhar, CP Poudel and others.

The story of ‘Nagbeli’ is written by journalist Dipendra Lama and is produced under the banner of Cheli Maiti International Films.

No film artist to represent in the CA

When the Constituent Assembly (CA) membership hopeful film directors Deepak Shrestha and Himgyap Lama couldn’t make it to the CPN (Maoist) list, there will be no film artists to represent in the current CA.

They were included in the preliminary list of CA members under the proportional representation (PR) electoral system. In the similar way, actor Bhuwan KC also couldn’t make it to the list of CPN (UML). Bhuwan has organized a press meet in protest of being rejected twice by the party.

Movie Review – Mahasush

Nepali movie ‘Mahasus’ was released all over the theatres of Nepal on August 16, 2013. ‘Mahasus’ is produced by Kalyaan Ghimire and directed by Nawal Nepal . The movie features Aryan Sigdel, Keki Adhikari, Benisha Hamal, Nir Shah, Rashmi Bhatta, Apsara Ghimire, and Rabindra Khadka in lead role. ‘Mahasus’ is advertised as a complete clean and family entertainer movie.

Story

‘Mahasus’ is a love story of a business man Bisow (Aryan Sigdel). Biswo is a successful businessman and Bidhya (Benisha Hamal) is his secretary. Bisow proposes Bidhya for marriage and she accepts. But the tragedy starts when Bisow knows Bidhya’s medical condition. Both of Bidhya’s kidneys had failed and she the doctors had estimated her to live a maximum of six months. To save Bidhya’s life, a poor and innocent girl named Gauri (Keki Adhikari) donates her kidney. After the incident, the love story gets new turn when Bisow provided support to Gauri and Bidhya started to get jealous of Gauri. I don’t want to kill excitement of watching movie by revealing what happens next to Bidhya and Biswo’s love story. It’s worth knowing the story by going to theater to watch the movie.
