Nepali movie ‘Janmabhumi’ is the third movie by the producer Chhabi Raj Ojha, before he met his future wife Rekha Thapa for his next movie ‘Hero’. The movie also features Chhabi’s wife of that time Geetanjali. The movie features the choreography of Kamal Rai, action of Rajendra Khadgi, music of Sambhujit Baskota and is made on the story of Chhabi Raj Ojha. The movie is the second move by Track Moviemakers banner and the presentation of Rajkumar Pokharel. Chhabi’s son Sakar Ojha is also featured as a child artist in the movie.
The movie is the presentation of SNS films by Taiyab Shah. ‘Beimani’ is produced by Rajendra Shakya and it features editing of Rajani Pant, action of Rajendra Khadgi, choreography of Basanta Shrestha, cinematography of Gautam Shrestha, script/dialogue of Mohan Niraula, music of Sambhujit Baskota.

Actress Rekha Thapa was awarded the best actress award for her role in ‘Kasle Choryo Mero Man’ in Box Office Film Award 2069, held on Friday December 7, 2012 in Dubai. Rekha was also the best actress in Viewer’s Choice. Among actors, Rajesh Hamal won the Viewer’s Choice award and Aryan Sigdel won the best actor award. Producer Chhabi Raj Ojha was awarded the viewer’s choice award (producer). The best movie was declared to be ‘Bato Muni Ko Phool’. Best movie in Viewer’s Choice category was ‘First Love’. The best director award was awarded to Suraj Subba for ‘Bato Muni Ko Phool’. In the event, awards in 31 different categories were awarded.
Actor Shiva Shrestha was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. Other actors honored during the ceremony include actor Bhuwan KC, Suman Singh, Mohankrishna Shrestha, Madhukar Shrestha, and Sunil Manandhar.

Simpal Khanal married a UK resident businessman of Pakistani origin. Rekha has legally divorced in August of 2016. Shayam Bhattarai has also gone to the USA (I don’t have any information if Shyam has met Ranjana Sharma there).
2012 – Actress Priyanka Karki‘s marriage with Rochak Mainali didn’t last more that two years. The Miss Teen 2005 revealed about the divorce in 2013, after a year of the event (more about Rochak and Priyanka’s divorce).
Saranga Shrestha – Saranga married a US citizen and divorced. She is currently married to a young Nepali guy, Ramesh, living in the USA. Saranga and Ramesh have a daughter.

Divorce in Nepali movie sector has become a common happening these days. Divorce brings in pain and problems and doesn’t come easy for both the parties involved. The traditional Nepali society has made it even worse in terms of setting a ‘bad example’ in the society.
Let’s analyze some of the high profile problems in marriages of the personalities of Nepali movie industry:
Bhuwan KC / Sushmita KC – Bhuwan KC is known for his affairs with various ladies. Bhuwan KC’s first marriage with Bijaya KC ended when Bijaya went to USA with their kids. Bhuwan found Sushmita KC as his second wife. That too didn’t lasted long and they ‘divorced’ until they reunited again after the release of “Ma Timi Bina Marihalchu”. But, they have divorced again. Bhuwan’s affair with Sharmila Dangol didn’t go far and he is living alone these days. We won’t be surprised if Bhuwan and Sushmita get together after the release of ‘Sathi Ma Timro’ as predicted by friends in Films Nepal. (update- they didn’t get together, but there is rumor that Bhuwan is having an affair with Jiya KC)
A presentation of Abhash Acharya for Gopi Krishna Movies. Produced by Uddav Poudyal, the film ‘Pritiko Phoola’ is made on the story Bijaya Chaudhary. Uddav’s son Nirak Poudel is said to be the Executive Producer of the film. Nirak later debuted as a director of the film ‘Kusume Rumal 2’ and he is planning to direct upcoming film ‘Homework’ featuring Namrata Shrestha and Aryan Sigdel in leading roles. Rajesh Hamal, the superstar of Nepali cinema, has acted in a music video of singer Nisha Sunar. Rajesh is acting in the song titled ‘Timi Gayeu Timi Sangai…’, in Nisha’s upcoming music album ‘Solo’. The singer, Nisha Sunar, is also acting in the music video.
The music video is being shot at Sarangkot, in Pokhara. Nisha has previously acted in ‘Pan ma parag chha…’ with another movie star, Bhuwan KC. She had also acted with Shiva Shrestha in ‘Item dance…’ Nisha has also acted with another movie star, Dilip Rayamajhi, in ‘Timro Man Ta…’.
Nisha Sunar started her musical career with professional singing at Venus Restaurant at Nagarkot.
Shiva Shrestha is one of the oldest actors in Nepali film industry, famous in action movies and romance movies. Apart from his acting skills he is also a good dancer, a skill lacking in many male actors in Nepalese movies.
