Nepali movie released on October 25, 2013, ‘Madhumas’ is produced by the director Sudarshan Thapa with Baburam Dahal. I had previously written a pre-release review of ‘Madhumash’ but couldn’t do the full review at the time of it’s release. For the promotion of the movie, the actor Aryan Sigdel was also featured in comedy serial ‘Tito Satya’. The love story movie was nominated in a number of awards including NFDC Award and Kamana Film Awards.
The Nepali movie ‘Apabad’ marks the debut of the director Subash Koirala. ‘Apabad’ is a presentation of Sushan Prajapati and in addition to direction, Subash has also written the story and the script of the movie. Two new movies ‘Rahadani’ and ‘Abeg’ were released in theater on this Friday (on March 25, 2016). It is a clash between the lead Aryan Sigdel in ‘Abeg’ and Dayahang Rai in ‘Rahadhani’.

Nepali movie ‘Avatar’ is a presentation of Balkrishna Tuladhar for Padhma Pictures is a revenge love story. Simant is the new actor in the movie. The child artist in the movie is Master Ashish. Actors Deepak Chhetri and Sudhanshu Joshi are featured in special guest appearance. The chief assistant director is Nilhari Kafle, editing by Narendra Khadka, action by Rajendra Khadgi, cinematography by Javed Shah. Choreographers are Basanta Jung Rayamajhi and Kamal Rai. Music by Shakti Ballav, script by the director Prakash Sayami.
A 2001 release movie, ‘Siudoko Sindoor’ is presented by Global Cine Concern, by Birendra Narayan Shrestha. The movie featuring ex-Miss Nepal Jharana Bajracharya also features Niruta Singh and Rajesh Hamal. The movie features the script and dialogue of Surendra Nakarmi, Purushottam Pradhan was assistant cameraperson in the film. Music in the film is composed by Sambhujit Baskota, choreography by Kamal Rai, action by Rajendra Khadgi, editing by Karun Thapa / Prem BK and production / cinematography by the director Manjukumar Shrestha.

Jharana Bajracharya – Miss Nepal World 1997, Jharana Bajracharya has acted in a number of movies. Her acting career didn’t go well. Jharana got married to a Malaysian businessman last year and she is expecting a child in April of 2016.
Niruta Singh – One of the top actress of her time, Niruta Singh left the film industry in 2008. She is reportedly working in Mumbai as an interior designer.
Nepali movie ‘Dying Candle’ has won an award at the sixth Queens World Film Festival, held in New York, USA. The movie was awarded Best Cinematography in a Feature award in the award ceremony held on March 19, 2016. The cinematographers of the movie were Rabin Acharya and Dipankar Sikder. Sikder is an Indian cinematographer.
The movie directed by Naresh Kumar KC, ‘Dying Candle’ was nominated in three categories including Best Actress In a Feature Award, Best Feature Narrative Award and Best Cinematography Award.
The shooting of the movie was inaugurated in an event held at Surya Vinayak temple in Bhaktapur on March 21. The shooting is expected to finish in a month. The movie is produced by the team that produced the previous hit movies ‘Chha Ekan Chha’ and ‘Woda Number Chha’. Although the main producers are Deepak, Deepa and Nirmal Sharma (Gaida) all the other main actors will also have certain amount of share in the movie.
Like previous years, the celebrities of Nepali film industry celebrated Holi festival in jolly mood. The festival of color was celebrated at various locations. Like every year, actress Karishma Manandhar had invited everybody to celebrate Holi at her residence. Last year, Karishma was busy in the shooting of ‘Fagu’ and couldn’t organize the festival at home.

On the request of the Film Development Board (FDB), the police in Pokhara has arrested the entire shooting crew of upcoming controversial movie, ‘Jism’. Talking to an online media, FDB chief, Rajkumar Rai has confirmed that the arrest was made after the request of the Board. Watch a video report on the incident:
Why was ‘Jism’ unit arrested?
According to Rajkumar Rai (FDB chair):
‘Jism’ script wasn’t approved by the FDB. The Board members were still discussing on the whether the movie should be approved.
Rai says, Giri was arrested because he didn’t listen to the board. Rai had told that he had called Giri and asked him to stop the shooting but, he didn’t comply to his order.
The Board is discussing if Archana Paneru should be allowed to be featured as an actress in Nepali movie.
Raju Giri and the film production team had submitted the script of the movie to the Film Development Board on 20th. He had also paid all the dues to the FDB for the script registration.
When he the script wasn’t approved till the 23rd, the film production team had gone to Pokhara to commence the shooting.
Raju Giri claims that the story of the movie is very good and there is no reason FDB should not approve it.
Actress Sweta Khadka seems to have recovered from the mourning of the death of her husband, actor Shree Krishna Shrestha. In the program held to appoint her the Goodwill Ambassador of a campaign to eradicate childhood marriage and dowry system, Sweta looked like the old Sweta, happy and beautiful. Her smile has returned back and she was excited to participate in the social work. She told that she was promoting the campaign without any pay.

Actor Dr. CK Singh is also supporting the campaign started by Raj Kumar Mahato. In 2014, I wrote about actress Garima Pant and CK Singh’s participation in a NGO to eradicate child marriage and dowry. The film artists had participated in the campaign to create awareness in the issues. Sweta’s role seem to be similar although the name of the organization has changed now. In 2014, the NGO was named BHORE. Now, the name of the organization is changed to Child Marriage and Dowry Eradication National Campaign, Nepal.
The trailer of upcoming movie ‘Junge’ was released in a program held in Kathmandu on March 20. The movie featuring Suraj Singh Thakuri, Richa Sharma, Anup Baral and Dpsikha Shahi in leading role features Suraj Singh in action role whereas actress Richa is featured in hot appearance.
The movie directed by Utkal Thapa features the cinematography of Susan Prajapati, script of Subash Koirala and the dialogue of SS Agraj. In the program, the director, Thapa, wasn’t present as he is currently in Australia. In a video message director Utkal Thapa told that the the movie is about the historical figure Junga Bahadur Rana in the present context.

The lead actor of Bhuwan KC‘s debut movie ‘Dreams’, Anmol KC is the new sensation in the Nepali film industry. ‘Dreams’ proved to be the third super-hit movies of Anmol KC. He as become the rare actors whose movies have succeeded. Despite of his popularity, Anmol is considered weak in acting. In all of his movies, the actresses have done better acting, but no actress have been as popular as Anmol.
