Garima Pant in love with a NRN?

The 2-years long affair of actress Garima Pant has recently been unveiled. According to rumors, Garima is seeing a Belgium resident, Hari Sharma Thapaliya for the last two years and they are very serious on the relationship. There is a possibility that the two are planning to get married soon.

Garima and Hari Sharma met when Garima went to Belgium for various cultural shows in Europe during the August of 2013. Actresses Nandita KC and singer Rima Gurung Hoda were also with Garima in that tour.

Hari is running a restaurant business in Belgium. He was married to a Chinese woman until he met Garima. After meeting Garima, Hari reportedly has divorced the Chinese woman. As the relationship become close, Hari has frequently visited Nepal to meet Garima.

Garima Pant to be a Scout

A new movie titled ‘Scout’ is going to feature actress Garima Pant in leading role. In a program organized in Kathmandu, the cast and crew of the movie was announced. The shooting was also inaugurated the Communication Minister, Minendra Rijal and other politicians.

‘Scout’ is a presentation of Madhu Kumar Shrestha and is produced jointly by Kedar Parajuli and Ishwor Tiwari. The movie is directed by Govinda Gautam and features Garima Pant with Kushal Thapa in leading role.

The movie produced by Govinda Shahi and a presentation of Deepak Kumar Shahi, ‘Parai’ was the last movie of the late director Shiva Regmi. (list of Shiva Regmi’s films) Director Regmi died on December of 2013, a month before the movie was released in theater in January 2014.

The story of the movie is written by Shivam Adhikari, music by Basanta Sapkota. The lyrics of the film are composed by Shib Regmi,Basanta Sapakota,Dayaram Pande,Naresh BHatarai and Nabaraj Lamsal. The singers are Bhishan Mukarung, Dipak Limbu, Swarup Raj Aacharya, Rajina Rimal, Rajesh Payal Rai, and Mandavi Tripathi.

Friday Release – Naike and Rang Baijani

This week two new Nepali movies ‘Naike’ and ‘Rang Baijani’ are releasing on theater on Friday, December 5, 2014. One movie is action themed and another is a story of female relationship.

The movie directed by Shambhu Pradhan, ‘Rang Baijani’ features actresses Sumina Ghimire and Garima Pant with Dikpal Karki. The movie made on a story of extramarital relationship and clash between two women marks the comeback of the well known director after 12 years of absence from the Nepali film industry. The female oriented film is expected to do well in theaters out of Kathmandu.

Sanchita Luitel returns to action cuts after 4 years

During the end-clap of the movie ‘Nai Na Bhannu La 3’, actress Sanchita Luitel has told that she is very happy to be the part of the Nepali film industry. Although it has already been four years since she had faced movie camera, she told, it feels like 4 days. Sanchita had also appeared in a music video on mother and danced in a program in Malaysia earlier this year.

In the last few years Sanchita got married to Nikhil Upreti and gave birth to two children. In the past some time Sanchita was preparing for the comeback by shedding weight and taking care of her appearance. In the movie, Sanchita is featured opposite to Suraj Singh Thakuri.

NFDC Film Awards 2014, Jhola wins 4 awards

Awards in 20 different categories were awarded in the NFDC National Film Awards 2071 held in the Army Officers Club in Kathmandu. In the event the movie made on a traditional sati practice, ‘Jhola’ has won four different awards including best movie, best director, best actress and best character actress awards.

‘Jhola’ won ‘Hira Best Movie award’, it’s director Yadav Bhattarai was awarded ‘Prakash Best Director’, it’s lead actress Garima Pant was awarded ‘Bhuwan Best Actress’ award and it’s character actress Laxmi Giri was awarded ‘Basundhara Supporting Actress’ award.

Namrata Shrestha movies Sambodhan and Tandav releasing on the same day

Two new movies of actress Namrata Shrestha, ‘Sambodhan’ and ‘Tandav’ are releasing on the same day, August 22, 2014. We don’t know the exact reason of such a blunder clash, but it is easy to guess that it is some sort of a clash of ego.

Releasing two movies of the same actress on the same day doesn’t make any business sense. That too, when most of the Nepali movies have been unsuccessful in recent days. During the press meet of one of the movies ‘Sambodhan’ Namrata confirmed that the movies are releasing on the same day. She told she would spend fifty percent of her promotion time on each movie (see attached video).

About ‘Tandav’, Namrata’s statement aren’t that positive:

We don’t know which movie her fans would like to watch. Researches show, when there are more than one options, people don’t make decisions – that is, they don’t choose any of the. Does that mean, there will less number of Namrata’s fan watching either of the movies? We will surely get the answer in a week!

Film Artists Association honor Garima Pant and Joes Pandey

To honor and appreciate the success of ‘Jhola’ actress Garima Pant and ‘Sanghuro’ director Joes Pandey, Nepal Film Artists Association organized a program on June 23. In the program, the artists were honored by Special Honor Certificate.

Talking at the ceremony Garima Pant and Joes Pandey appreciated the honor provided by the organization. Garima told that the award she and Joes got was actually an award for the entire film industry. She said, the award has proven that our film industry is of international standard. She also appreciated the help of actress Laxmi Giri during the shooting of the movie.

Garima Pant and Dr. CK Singh appointed Goodwill Ambassador of BHORE

A NGO that fights against child marriage and dowry system, BHORE, has appointed actress Garima Pant and Dr. CK Singh its Goodwill Ambassadors. Pant is currently working in a movie ‘Udaharan’, a movie to advocate empowering women and girl children.

As ambassadors, the actors will initiate campaign through interviews, press conferences and other similar campaigns.

The President invites and congratulates Grima Pant for winning Best Actress Award

The ‘Jhol’ film actress Garima Pant became one of the best actress in SAARC region after winning the Best Actress award at SAARC Film Festival held in Sri Lanka. The President Ram Baran Yadav welcomed Garima at his residence Shital Niwas to congratulate the actress for winning the award.

Garima had gone to the President’s residence with the journalists. In the meeting the President congratulated Garima and told that she has made us proud. In response, Garima told that it was a very good opportunity for her. She also promised to do better in coming days.

Garima Pant becames the top actress in SAARC film festival

In the SAARC film festival, Nepali actress Garima Pant has been selected the best actress for her role in ‘Jhola’. The movie was screened in the SAARC Film Festival 2014, held at Colombo, Sri Lanka from May 20 to May 25.

This week two new movies ‘Nai Nabhannu La 2’ and ‘Manle Manlai Chhunchha’ are released in theaters all over Nepal.

‘Manle Manlai Chhunchha’ is the last movie of the late director Shiva Regmi. The historical movie ‘Jhola’ has celebrated 51 days in theater on March 29. We at xnepali wish the film makers on the success of the movie. The success of the movie at the time when majority of Nepali movies have failed to recover their investment is an indication that there is still a market for good movies in Nepal.

Garima Pant learning fighting for her role in Thuli

For the upcoming movie of Surya Bohora, ‘Thuli’ actress Garima Pant is learning fighting. The actress Pant will be featured as the central character, Thuli, in the movie. The actors opposite to Garima in the movie is Jiwan Luitel.

This is the first time Garima is featured in action role. To make the acting easier, Garima is currently training in martial arts. The movie is being produced jointly by the director Bohara and Sunil Basnet. Shooting of the movie is scheduled to start on Sunday, Chaitra 9 (March 23) and will be shot in locations in Chitwan, Baglung, Beni and Jomsom area.
