Mero Euta Sathi Chha sequel in making under Aryan Sigdel banner

The movie featuring Aryan Sigdel and Namrata Shrestha, ‘Mero Euta Sathi Chha’ was one of the hit movies at the time of its release in 2009. After that, the couple was repeated in ‘November Rain’. Both the movies were liked by the viewers. Encouraged by the success of the movies, Aryan Sigdel has decided to produce the sequel of the movie under Aryan Sigdel Entertainment banner.

The original ‘Mero Euta Sathi Chha’ (watch ‘Mero Euta Sathi Chha’ here) was produced by  Prabhu Shumsher JBR under Eyecore Entertainment. Aryan is reported to be in talk with the producer for the rights to the name.

Laaz and Kalo Pothi to be featured in Busan Film Festival

Two Nepali movies are going to be featured in the 20th edition of Busan International Film Festival to be held at Busan, South Korea. The festival starting on October 1.

The movie to be featured in the festival are ‘Kalo Pothi’ (The Black Hen) by Min Bahadur Bham and a short film named ‘Laaz’ (The Shame) by Sushan Prajapati.

‘Kalo Pothi’ will be one of the 51 feature films to be screened from 32 different Asian countries in ‘A Window on Asian Cinema’ category. The 1 hour and 30 minutes long movie is made on the civil war in Nepal. The movie featuring Khadka Raj Nepali, Benisha Hamal and Sukra Raj Rokaya was shot in Mugu. The movie will also be featured in the 72nd Venice International Film Festival. (Click here for the details on the movie in the official site of the festival)

Nikhil Upreti lodges complaint against Gopal Kayastha

Actor, director and producer, Nikhil Upreti, has lodged a complain against the distributor of his movie ‘Bhairav’ over its removal from the theater without informing him. ‘Bhairav’ distributor for Kathmandu is BK Films, the company of Nikhil’s friend Gopal Kayastha and producer of Nikhil’s upcoming movie ‘Lootera’. Upon receiving the complaint, the Film Producers Association has summoned Kayastha for the clarification on the matter.

Nikhil’s debut movie as a director ‘Bhairav’ was removed from QFX Central, Civil Mall theatre on the second day of the show. The distributor Kayastha has also told that he wasn’t made aware by the theatre management about the removal of the movie from the theatre.

Four Nepali movies apply to participate in Oscar Awards, foreign film category

For the Oscar Awards to be held in February, four Nepali movies have applied to be selected to represent Nepal in the Best Foreign Language Film category. The application from the makers of Sunpani, Nishani, Bhimdatta and Talakjung VS Tulke was received to the Film Development Board, Nepal.

Application was called from the movies released between Ashoj 15, 2071 to Bhadra 14, 2072 BS to apply for the consideration to send to the Oscar awards in the USA. A five-members Oscar Award Selection Committee will evaluate the applications and send the most appropriate movie to the Oscar Awards selection committee.

Loot director Nischal to marry Hostel Returns actress Swastima

In a latest report the director of super hit movie ‘Loot’, Nischal Basnet, is planning to get married to actress Swatima Khadka. Swastima is one of the leading actresses in the movie in theater, ‘Hostel Returns’.

According to a report, Nischal and Swatima were having an affair before deciding in marrying. Now, the families of both are meeting to finalize the marriage date.

Resham Filili actor Vinay Shrestha and Aney Thapa engaged

The lead actor of the movie in theter, ‘Resham Filili’, Vinay Shrestha performed an engagement ceremony with his girlfriend of two years, Aney Thapa. Aney, a resident of the UK had recently arrived in Nepal for the ceremony. (we wrote about the affair of Vinay and Aney earlier.)

According to report, the engagement ceremony was held last week. The marriage is scheduled to be held in Falgun. A student in UK, Aney had arrived in Nepal recently for the engagement ceremony.

Nisha Adhikari speaks up, returning Nepal on September end

When Nisha Adhikari left Nepal suddenly and reached USA in in mid-June, rumors and speculation of her break-up with cricketer Sharad Veshwakar were made. When print media also published report of break-ups, both Sharad and Nisha had made fun of them over the issue. While in the US, Nisha shaved her head and shared her bald photos in Facebook and Instagram.

Today, in a Facebook status update, Nisha has listed the answers to the questions raised by her well-wishers. Her answers:

  • Nisha says that she is returning back to Nepal at the end of September.
  • She is scheduled to shot the songs of ‘Lootera’ and will be involved in the promotion of the movie. She also says that she is planning to do two more movies soon.
  • Nisha has to finish some work of ‘How Funny’
  • Nisha clarified that Nisha is not planning to stay in the USA permanently. It was only a vacation tour to live with her brother.

Nisha further clarified that an artist doesn’t need to break up to go to a foreign country.

Binita Baral flying to the USA to do MBA in Agriculture Business

Actress Binita Baral has truly become an ex-actress as she is flying to the USA on August 30, 2015 to pursue MBA in Agriculture Business. She has told that she has received full scholarship for the course.

Binita became a new sensation in the Nepali film industry when her debut movie ‘Chapali Height’ became a huge success (watch ‘Chapali Height’ here). But, the failure of her second movie ‘Full Stop’ (watch ‘Full Stop’ here) cause a break of her acting career. She started agriculture business with some partners in 2013.

Film Critics Awards 2015 goes to Kabaddi

The Films Critics Society of Nepal (FICSON) has announced the winners of the second Critics Award. The movies released in 2071 BS were considered in the selection of the winners. Winners were selected in eight different categories. Best Background Music award is an addition to the categories awarded last year.

Friday Release – Bhairav and Resham Filili

This Friday, on August 28, two of the most awaited movies are releasing in theater. Actor Nikhil Upreti‘s comeback movie ‘Bhairav’ and the movie of the viral song, ‘Resham Filili’.
