Rekha Thapa snatched the direction of Himmatwali from Shyam Bhattarai

UPDATE– Shyam Bhattarai is no longer in Rekha Thapa’s Facebook friend-list. (The title of this post is changed to reflect the information.)

Actress Rekha Thapa was forced to start directing her upcoming movie when the director Shyam Bhattarai becomes sick. Rekha relieved Shyam of his directing job so that he could recover and took over the direction of ‘Himmatwali’ herself.Â In his Facebook post, Shyam has thanked Rekha for letting him go and also appreciated Rekha’s ex-husband for being ‘such a great’ film maker.

Shyam posting his photo with Chhabi after losing Rekha’s job sounds fishy. There is no doubt Chhabi Raj Ojha is a great film maker but, the timing doesn’t sound right. We have asked Shyam for the clarification on the case and will update the post when he replies.

Shabir Shrestha to produce ‘Tathastu’ featuring Rekha Thapa and Kishor Khatiwoda

Director of ‘Hamesha‘, Shabir Shrestha is going to produce a movie of his own titled ‘Tathastu’. The movie to feature Rekha Thapa in leading role will feature Kishor Khatiwoda in opposite to Rekha. As before, Rekha will be the central character of the movie. Kishor had acted opposite to Rekha in ‘Kali‘.

Although Rekha is currently busy in the shooting of ‘Himmatwali’ in West Nepal, she has already signed the agreement to do Sabir’s movie. After ‘Damdar’ and ‘Himmatwali’; ‘Tathastu’ will be Rekha’s third movie to release next year.

The shooting of an upcoming movie of Rekha Films, ‘Himmatwali’ has started in Mahendranagar on Shivaratri day. Rekha Thapa performed chasing stunts in horseback on the first day of shooting.

The movie is being directed by Shyam Bhattarai and is being cinematographed by Ramsharan Upreti. Rekha is also introducing a new actor in the movie, most probably the disabled climber Sudarshan Gautam.

Actress Rekha Thapa has shared a photo of herself with a mystery new actor to be featured in her upcoming movie, ‘Himmatwali’. The photo posted with caption – "New looks, surprising n new actor" in her upcoming movie ‘Himmatwali’, hides the face of the actor. Based on the photo it is clear that the lead actor of Rekha’s upcoming movie is a disabled climber, Sudarshan Gautam. Sudarshan doesn’t have hands and he can perform stunts with his feet. He had recently made news by climbing Mt. Everest and being the first climber without hands. We had written about Sudarsan Gautam 4 years ago.

At the time when the love festival – Valentine Day is nearing, singer Anil Thapa offered his love proposal to actress Rekha Thapa. The incident happened during the Star FM Music Award program in which singer Anil Singh was singing his popular song ‘I Love you … ‘

While singing the song, Anil went to the seat Rekha was sitting and led her to the stage. On stage, Anil went on his knees and proposed while singing. Rekha found it funny and laughed at all the time. In his facebook message Anil Singh wrote, "It is an honor and privilege to share stage along with superstar Rekha Thapa."

In 2040 BS Chhabi Raj Ojha started the distribution of Hindi movie. He moved to Kathmandu for the distribution. The first Nepali movie he distributed was ‘Bhagya Rekha’ – a movie produced by Chiranjivi Basnet and directed by Deepak Rayamajhi. The movie wasn’t successful commercially. He had also gone to Madras for the post production of the movie. After the failure of ‘Bhagyarekha’, Chhabi proposed a concept to Deepak Rayamajhi and promised to finance it.

Samjhana to bring Rekha Thapa and Namrata Shrestha together, in a movie

In Nepali film industry, actress Rekha Thapa and Namrata Shrestha are known not to like each other. If a latest report is true, they seem to have sorted out the issues and are willing to work together in an upcoming project. The company that produced upcoming movie ‘Megha’, Sawasta Entertainment, is planning to feature Rekha, Namrata and Manisha’s brother Siddhartha Koirala in an unnamed movie.

We reported about the new development in easing the relationship between the two actress during Tihar celebration at Karishma Manandhar‘s house. Rekha and Namrata were seen together with Samjhana Upreti Rauniar, lighting fire crackers.

It seems, actress Rekha Thapa has promised not to go to Malaysia again. It has been the second time Rekha has refused to go there on the last minute. Last year, Rekha had agreed to participate in Remix Dhamaka 5 and canceled her trip on the last minute. This time, she did the same by refusing to go to the NEFTA film award to be held there.

Chhabi doesn’t have faith in women, won’t marry again

One of the top producers of Nepali film industry, Chhabi Raj Ojha has announced that he won’t marry again. The 48-years-old businessman was responding to the rumor of his proposal to the actress of his upcoming movie, ‘Lazza’. A rumor of the actress Shilpa Pokharel being proposed by Chhabi was published in online and offline media. We also talked about it although we were skeptical on the news.

Talking to an online magazine, Chhabi told that after reviewing his marital history he doesn’t want to marry again. He told, "I don’t have faith in women anymore. Don’t talk about marriage." He also told that he won’t be proposing anybody after the divorce with Rekha Thapa. Chhabi says that he has failed in matters related to marriage. Rekha Thapa says she is not a Maoist, anymore

In an interview with the ‘Shukrabar’ weekly, actress Rekha Thapa has stated that she is not a CPN (Maoist) member. The statement has come after the party failed to get anticipated seats in the CA election.

Rekha had joined the party in a highly publicized event before election. Maoist had also offered the actress a ticket in the election. But, she had to relinquish the ticket because of her failure to register herself as a voter. Rekha had also participated in some election rallies of the party.

Nepali actress Rekha Thapa had organized a inauguration ceremony to formally announce the social work she had started recently by establishing the Rekha Thapa Foundation. In the event she told, “I have felt like a mother. Now I have realized that you don’t need to be in blood relationship to become a mother.”

In the formal event, Rekha also released a half-hour-long video showing the details of her visit to the Far Western Nepal to meet Raute community people. The website of the organization, rekhathapafoundation.org, was also launched during the event.
