“Ma Timi Bina Marihaalchhu” is made on the story and concept of the lead actress and Bhuwan KC’s wife of that time, Sushmita KC. Sushmita is also the mother of actor Anmol KC. After Sushmita and Bhuwan divorced, Sushmita started calling her Sushmita Bomzom. But, there was a problem with the name. That was because she had obtained the Nepali passport under KC. When she couldn’t get the passport under her maiden name, she had to seek the support of Anmol KC. Being the mother of a Nepali citizen, she could renew her passport. The movie had also won the best movie in KTV Film Award of 2066. It is Kajal Films’ 4th movie and a presentation of Bhuwan KC.

Bhuwan KC and Sushmita had promised not to marry again, Bhuwan kept it, Sushmita broke it!

Although it is a personal choice of an individual whether to get married or not – we are still plagued with the male-dominated social feeling. When Bhuwan KC married the second time and is living with a third woman, it was considered a “normal”. The same thing by Sushmita is tagged ‘not-so-normal’ by the society.

After the divorce, Bhuwan KC and Sushmita KC had realized that the marriage-institution was ridiculous and promised not to marry again. That is the reason Bhuwan is delaying marrying Jiya KC. It seems, Jiya and Bhuwan have reached to an agreement to stay together without marrying.

In an interview last year, Sushmita had also told the same thing. But, there was a rumour of her marriage 4 years ago – with an Indian businessman (not sure if it was the same person she got engaged on September 9). It seems, Sushmita still wants the comfort of being married.

A report I made a while ago about Bhuwan KC’s “unmarried wife”. At that time, I was wondering why Bhuwan won’t even accept Jiya as his girlfriend. Now, it seems, he doesn’t want to give a name to the relationship.

Anmol’s mother, Sushmita KC marrying an Australian businessman

There was a popular song of the past by Kumar Basnet:

“Chori Bhandaa Aama Taruni, Lipsitck powder le…”

The songs says that the mother looks younger than her daughter by the use of makeup. According to the latest news, the song needs to be modified a little bit:

“Chora Bhandaa Aama Taruni…”

That is because, the mother of the superstar of the Nepali film industry, Anmol KC, is getting married. Sushmita got engaged to Fiji born, Australian businessman Killan Swami on September 9, 2018 in an event held in Singapore. They are going to get married on the Valentine Day of 2019.

More details on the marriage is yet to come. There was a rumour about the relationship with an Indian businessman in 2014. It seems, she has taken more than four years to formally accept the marriage proposal of her boyfriend.

At the time when Bhuwan KC is openly courting Jiya KC and are reportedly living together in Bhuwan’s home, Sushmita’s marriage makes sense.

Actress Pooja Sharma talked about actor Bhuwan KC and Anmol KC in one of her interviews. But, when the interview was published, a misleading title was published causing the mother of Anmol KC, Sushmita KC to express her dissatisfaction.

Here is the screenshot of what went around in the internet.

Sushmita seems to be in a hurry to respond to things. It was not the first time she has done so. She had expressed her anger against a journalist at the time of the release of her movie. The she also wrote hate words against Bhuwan KC a while ago. Now, she is defending Bhuwan KC.

The title of course is misleading, and it makes sense when Sushmita responded by the following statement:

It is not only in the Nepali movie industry, divorce among Nepali couple has been in the increasing trend these days. This might be because, compromising is not in the cards of today’s youth. I think, there is nothing wrong to get out of the relationship that is not working out. But, divorce also brings a lot of pain and problems to the both the couple involved. The traditional Nepali society has made it even worse by tagging them ‘bad example’ to the society.

This post was originally written on Jan 29, 2012. In the mean time I had updated it to reflect the changes in the status of Nepali artists. I think, it is the time to rewrite the whole post.

2016 – Rekha Thapa and Chhabi Raj Ojha have officially divorced after 4 years of unofficial divorce after a decade of living together. They signed the legal paper and make it legal in August of 2016. Right after the divorce, Chhabi has told that he is planning to get married for the fourth time. Will he marry the actress Shilpa Pokharel or is he using the controversy only to promote his movie – that is a huge mystery of the Nepali movie industry.

While shooting and post-production of ‘Himmatwali’ Rekha is having an affair with Sudarshan Gautam. But, right after the release of the movie, Rekha reportedly dumped Sudarshan.

Was Sharmila Malla looking for an experienced man?

Among the actresses mentioned in the video, actress Sharmila Malla is the only actress who had been the fourth wife, others are either third or the second wives of their husbands. It is surprising how Sharmila roped-in her husband, Krishna Malla, into her love and stopped his marrying-spree. Krishna Malla had already married three women in a young age but stopped marrying new girls after marrying Sharmila in the last 30-years they are living together.

Now, the main question, was Sharmila attracted to Krishna Malla because of his previous experiences with various women? May be, experience pays off. But, at the time of her marriage, Sharmila had no idea that Krishna Malla had married other women before her. In an interview, Sharmila told that she didn’t know about Krishna Malla’s earlier marriages until she gave birth to her son. Based on Sharmila’s statement, although Krishna Malla didn’t tell her about his previous marriages at the time of their marriage, he must have shown the understanding and the talents that only a well experienced man can show to a girl.

Sushmita KC TV program producer threat, Ma Ta Timrai Hoon controversy (Update)

The threat might be directed to Prakash Subedi as he is the producer of the TV program. (I have also added the video of the program in question – 35th episode of Rajatpat, at the end of this post.)

In a Facebook post, actress and the producer or recent release movie, Sushmta KC has threatened a filmy-program in TV, Rajatpat. She had expressed her dissatisfaction about the report about her movie ‘Ma Ta Timrai Hun’ aired in the program. In the report aired in the TV show, her debut production movie was a failure and it didn’t do good business.

In response, Sushmita had turned very aggressive towards the Kantipur TV program. Sushmita had registered Anmol Creation banner, a name after her son Anmol KC, to produce the movie. Although a star actor himself, Anmol wasn’t featured in the movie. The movie had featured new actors with Sushmita herself. The TV report stated that the movie was a flop. But, Sushmita claims that it had done satisfactory business. Attached below is a screeshot of the post by Sushmita.

Friday Release – Ma Ta Timrai Hoon

The debut movie of actress Sushmita KC as a producer, ‘Ma Ta Timrai Hoon’ is the sole release this week on theatre. After divorcing Bhuwan KC Sushmita KC has registered a film production company named Anmol Creations. The first movie made in the banner named after the hit actor Anmol KC has released in theatre on July 22, 2016.

Although made under the banner named after Anmol KC, the movie doesn’t feature the actor himself. It features Aakash Shrestha, Jyotsna Yogi, Sushmita KC, Jiwan Bhattarai, Susan Khadka, Anupam Shrestha, Sushil Kafle etc. In a press event held recently, Anmol told that he wasn’t considered while writing the story of the movie. He told, Aakash Shrestha fits more to the character than himself. Aakash and Jyotsna are debuting in the film industry through this movie.  Continue reading

Anmol KC explains why he is not featured in Ma Ta Timrai Hoon

A press meet was organized in Kathmandu to inform about this week’s released ‘Ma Ta Timrai Hoon’, a movie by actress Sushmita KC under the banner of her son, Anmol KC. Although Anmol KC is named the producer of the movie, his is not features as an actor in the movie. In the program, Anmol KC explained why he is not featured in the movie.

Anmol told that the story was written without considering him as the actor. That was the reason he was not featured in the movie. In addition to that, Anmol told that the company Anmol Creations’ goal is to introduce new actors in the Nepali film industry.

Anmol KC birthday, Gajalu first look and Ma Ta Timrai Hoon release date announced

The first look poster of the fourth movie of Anmol KC, ‘Gajalu’ was released on his 22nd birthday, on March 29, 2016. On the same day, the release date of the movie produced by his mother under Anmol KC Films, was also announced. The movie titled ‘Ma Timrai Hoon’ will be released on July 22, 2016.

The fourth movie of Anmol KC as the leading actor, ‘Gajalu’ was announced last year. Directed by the director of two of his earlier movies – ‘Hostel’ and ‘Jerryy’. ‘Gajalu’ is one of the most awaited movies of this year. The release date of the movie was initially fixed for May 6. The first female producer of Nepali movie is Manju Rana, the producer of the Nepali movie ‘Juni’. After Manju the professional female producer of Nepali movie is Sumitra Poudel. Producer Malati Rai produced the super-hit Nepali movie ‘Saino’. These producers were not actresses. In later days, actresses had entered film production business with mixed result.

At this time, at least 5 movies produced by actresses are recently released or waiting to release in near future.  Actress Poojana Pradhan‘s debut production movie ‘Chocolete’ is releasing on December 4, 2015. Similarly, actress Karishma Manandhar‘s production ‘Falgu’ is releasing on February 17, 2016 and actress Rekha Thapa‘s production movie ‘Rampyari’ is scheduled to release on April 8, 2016. Another actress, Suvekshya Thapa‘s home co-production movie ‘Bindaas 3’ is also ready for release. Actress Ashika Tamang‘s debut movie both as an actress and as a producer was released on October 23.

Rekha Thapa

Rekha’s ex-husband had registered Rekha Films after her and produced some successful movies under the banner. When Rekha and Chhabi divorced Rekha took the production with her. Chhabi had registered Chhabiraj Films banner to produce his later films. Rekha Films and Chhabiraj Films jointly produced ‘Hamesha’ before parting their ways in their next movies. The success of Rekha’s own production ‘Kali’ and ‘Himmatwali’ were after parting from Chhabi has proved Rekha a successful film producer.

Anmol KC to produce his mother Sushmita KC comeback movie Ma Ta Timrai Hoon

A new movie was announced on November 8, ‘Ma Ta Timrai Hoon’ in an even held at Thapathali. The movie marks the comeback of Sushmita KC after 5-years of absence from the Nepali movie industry. The movie is also the first movie to be produced by Anmol KC. Although the movie is made on the story of the relationship between mother and son, Anmol won’t be featured in the movie. He will only be the producer.

Talking in the event, Anmol told, “The movie is the story of today’s youth and it features the relationship between a mother and her son.”

Sushmita KC had stopped appearing in movies after divorcing Bhuwan KC. She had also insisted on using her maiden name Sushmita Bomjom instead of KC. As Bhuwan KC debuted as a director in his upcoming movie ‘Dreams’, there were reports of Sushmita to direct the movie. She however didn’t want to take risk and has assigned Shree Ram Mahat. The director of small screen telefilms, Mahat is also debuting as the director of big screen movies.
