2073 of Samragyee RL Shah, No movies only headlines

The actress Samragyee RL Shah was one of the most talked about actress of the year 2073. By the way she was covered in the media, it seems she was given more importance than she really deserves because:

  • No movies of Samragyee were released in the whole year, 2073. Although she signed in ‘A Mero Hajur 2’ and ‘Timi Sanga’, no trailer or music videos of the movies were released until the end of the year.
  • The movie, released previous year, in 2072, ‘Dreams’ was the debut movie of Samragyee and, her second movie is yet to release.
  • Samragyee wasn’t even active in the film industry or the entertainment industry before signing in her first movie, ‘Dreams’. Although Samragyee did some modeling assignments after participating and becoming the third in Classic Diamond contest, 2014, she is not much active in modelling.

Then why did she became so popular the whole year?

Let me analyze some of the facts that made her popular:

High price

After the success of ‘Dreams’, Samragyee took no time in hiking her price. Before the release of the movie, she had verbally agreed to do the movie ‘Summer Love’. But, when the movie became a hit, she reportedly demanded Rs. 5 lakhs to do the movie. That is the price unheard of from an actress in the Nepali movie industry, let alone from a new actress. After that, the ‘Summer Love’ team decided to search for another actress. They even search for a Nepali actress in Australia. But, at last, they found Rewati Chhetri – an Indian actress of Nepali origin. Rewati was one of the contestants of Miss India 2015.

Love affair

On the 21st birthday, Samragyee shared photos with Mayank Khadka. The photos showing her in close embrace with Khadka was the topic of discussion in media. Khadka reportedly went to Pokhara to meet Samragyee at the shooting location of ‘A Mero Hajur 2’. Samragyee however denied love affair and told that Mayank was her good friend . No big movies release on last Friday of 2073, Aparichit solo release

The Friday, April 7, 2017 was the last Friday of the year 2073. On that day only one movie was relased – ‘Aparichit’.

The movie ‘Aparichit’ features Sarika KC and Prajwal Giri in leading role. The movie is directed by Rupesh Thing. A director of Tamang movies, ‘Aparichit’ is the first mainstream movie of Thing. The movie is told to be an action love story movie. It is produced by Milan Lama and Jabindra Subba. The cinematographer is Sanju Thokar Lama.

About ‘Karkash’

The movie produced by Asim Shah, Nepali movie ‘Karkash’ was liked by the film critics although it wasn’t successful commercially. The movie features the cinematography of Sushan Prajapati, editing of Lokesh Bajracharya and is made on the story, screenplay and dialogue of Abinash Bikram Sahah / Asif Shah. The movie is the story of three boys who started a musical band named Karkash and perform in a local restaurant at Thamel in Kathmandu. The music band lacked a good vocalist. They found a lead vocalist – a rich businessman. The movie is about relationships of the band members, and the ups and downs of their lives.

Movie is a package of good performance, simple and proper story executed, proper dialogues but, disappointing climax.

Saptahik’s Top 10 Movies of the year 2073

The list of Top 10 movies published in Saptahik weekly sound like a joke. Out of 85 movies released in the year 2073, there weren’t enough hit movies to fill the list. The weekly has dumped movie names despite the failure of the movies to win the hearts of the viewers. According to the report only six movies had made profit in the year. Four more movies could do a breakeven business.

After reviewing the list, I think the list could have been titled ‘Top 5 Movies of the year’. When there aren’t enough movies, they shouldn’t have created the list and fill it with unsuccessful movies. Let me review each movies in the list.

The first in the list ‘Chhakka Panja’ is a truly successful movie of the year. It did make record breaking business. So, first position of the movie makes sense. You can watch ‘Chhakka Panja’ here.

The second in the list is ‘Loot 2’. The sequel of the previous superhit movie ‘Loot’ also did a good business although many found it less fulfilling than the original movies. After ‘Chhakka Panja’, ‘Loot 2’ was made good impression to the viewers. (Watch the original ‘Loot’ here)

Paras and Himani talked, relationship – unsure!

The relationship between ex-prince Paras Shah and ex-princess has been going through a rough road for the last few years. Paras and Himani are living separately since Paras’ return from Thailand two years ago. It is not only the relationship with his wife, his relationship with his parents is not good either.

They only meet in special functions and they don’t seem to talk to each others. But, that changed in the party organized to celebrate the Bratabandha of Paras’s son, Hridayendra Shah at Soltae Hotel. The party with invitation to guest exceeding 3,000 was huge and included high level personality in the country. Although the Prime Minister was not seen in the party, the president and other high level official were present.

Hridayendra’s parents Paras and Himani were seen together in the party. They also talked briefly but the way they talked wasn’t that cordial. Paras seem relaxed and comfortable talking to Himani but Himani seem tensed and more focused to the guests than Paras. When Himani smiled at the end of the conversation, Paras didn’t look happy.

3000 guests at Ex-King Gyanendra party at Soltae Hotel, Himani kept the crown at home

Almost 3,000 guests have arrived at the party organized by ex-king Gyanendra Shah to mark the Bratabandha of his grandson Hridayendra Shah. The bratabandha itself was held last week. I wrote about the bratabandha and a video about the incident.

The bratabandha was held in a private ceremony held at their residence, Nirmal Niwas. Only a few photos of the event were made available.

At the time of this writing the party is going on. I have obtained a few photos of the event:

In the main event the ex-princess and her daughters wore the royal looks by wearing crowns. But, in the party at Soltae Hotel, Himani has kept the crown at home.

Curious Case of Bomjom – So called god was behind the death of his own sister

UPDATE – Bomjon’s mother had gone to the police to help rescue her daughter, Bomjon’s younger sister, Ranjita Bomjon, when he abducted her. The following photo was published in a local daily ‘Prateek Daily’.

The Buddha Boy made news in international media when the news of his meditation spread like a fire in 2005-06. After that he has been making news in more negative than positive ones. Ram Bahadur Bomjon has renamed himself a difficult name and had conducted a Maitri Convention in Lalitpur. I prepared a video introduction of the self-claimed God (attached below).

Being God is not easy. And, Gods punish the bad people. May be that is what is doing by punishing people – kidnapping and beating and even killing his own sibling. According to a report published in Setopati, he was the cause of the death of his elder sister. He has also punished a guy in the forest area where he lives. According to the source quoted by Setopati, the guy is fighting for his life.

Bomjon and his followers keep their residence in a tight security surveillance. Nobody knows what happens in side the area inside a huge forest.

Karishma Manandhar – political blunder again!

Karishma Manandhar accuses journalists while Hisila Yami says anti-partriotic slogan was a tongue slip

Nepali actress and the leader of Naya Shakti Nepal, Karishma Manandhar has accused journalists of fabricating the scenes of Hisila Yami chanting anti-patriotic slogan. Hisila was chanting “Yo Deshlai Kharej gar” (meaning “revoke this country”) while she was being transported away after being arrested by the police. It is clear that Hisila was chanting such a slogan after being stressed out of the protest program. She admitted her mistake and organized a press meet to explain the truth.

In the press meet, Hisila Yami admitted her mistake and told that she was tired and didn’t know what she was chanting at that time. She also expressed her love for the country and told that she would never mean to revoke the country. She told that she meant to revoke the election legislation that was passed recently.

What did Karishma say?

In the other hand – another leader of Naya Shakti Nepal party, actress Karishma Manandhar didn’t seem to have discussed the matter with Hisila or the party before accused the journalists of fabricating the news.

Karishma wrote the Facebook status in Nepali language. She wrote:

I am a film artist, I know the technology. Somebody dubbed the voice of Hisila Yami for her character assassination. They didn’t know, the voice in the open doesn’t have echo. Do some more dubbing and add more fake voices.

This is not the first political blunder of one of the most popular actress of the Nepali movie industry. Karishma’s mistakes during the inauguration ceremony of Naya Shakti Nepal had also made headlines.

4 Miss Nepal winners to represent Nepal in International Beauty contests this year

Till last year, top 3 winners of Miss Nepal contests used to represent international beauty contests. Starting this year, one more Miss Nepal will represent Nepal in the international contest. The fourth placed winner of Miss Nepal 2017 will now go to Miss Asia Pacific beauty contest.

Although the fourth place winner of Miss Nepal is going to participate in Miss Asia Pacific beauty contest this year, this is not the first time Miss Nepal had participated in the contest. That was the first international beauty contests Miss Nepal used to go before the agreement with the Miss world beauty contest.

The first Miss Nepal, Ruby Rana, (in 1994) participated in Miss Asia Pacific 1994 in Philippines. After Ruby, Miss Nepal 1995 Sumi Khadka and Miss Nepal 1996 Punam Ghimire also participated in Miss Asia Pacific contests.

Himani and Paras – Insider’s Photos of Bratabandha at Nirmal Niwas

The ex-princess and her daughters wore the royal looks in the Upanayan ceremony of the son of the ex-prince Paras Shah and ex-princess Himani Shah, Hridayendra Shah. (I talked about the event in my earlier post)

The 14 years old young-ex-prince Hridayendra’s Bratabandha ceremony was conducted in a private function held at the residence of ex-King Gyanendra. Only the close relatives were invited in the function. As no journalists were invited to the ceremony, no photos or the videos of the ceremony were released.
