Namrata Shrestha movie Soul Sister releasing on Jan 16

Actress Namrata Shrestha announced the release date of her debut movie has a producer ‘Soul Sister’ in a press meet organized on Monday. The press meet was special as her ex-lover was seen the the event and it is believed that the love affair has resumed after one year of break up. Namrata announced the release date of her production, ‘Soul Sister’ on the December 15 event. The movie is scheduled to release on January 16, 2015 (Magh 2).

The movie written and directed by Prasant Rasaili features Namrata Shrestha with actors like Rajesh Hamal, Deepak Sharma, Rabina Deshraj and others. The movie was shot in Sikkim, India.

Why was Indian comedian Kapil Sharma program canceled in Kathmandu?

The widely published program, Ncell Purple Fest, featuring Indian popular comedian Kapil Sharma was canceled at the last minute. Kapil showed up in Kathmandu with two of his assistant comedian – Dadi (Ali Asgar) and Raju. It is reported that although they couldn’t perform in the show, they have claimed the full pay from the organizers.

After arriving in Kathmandu, Kapil conducted a press meet and returned back to India. He told that he was very unhappy on the cancellation of the show and told that he will return back to Kathmandu in future event.

Bheti and Lafada producer Narayan Khatiwada found dead in a hotel

Nepali film producer Narayan Khatiwada is found dead in a hotel in Kathmandu at round 3 PM on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. He had checked in room number 103 of Hotel Hardik in Bagbazar on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, when nobody answered the door of his room, the room was forced open to find Khatiwada dead.

The well known producer Chhabi Raj Ojha started in Nepali film industry at the age of 25 years. It has been more 25 years since he has been active in distribution and production of Nepali movies. On the occasion of his 50th birthday and silver jubilee in Nepali film industry, a special program was organized in Kathmandu. In addition to cutting cakes and receiving gifts, Chhabi also announced an upcoming movie – ‘Kismat 2’. A sequel of the hit movie ‘Kismat’ (watch Kismat here) is the 18th production of the director.

Sanchita Luitel returns to action cuts after 4 years

During the end-clap of the movie ‘Nai Na Bhannu La 3’, actress Sanchita Luitel has told that she is very happy to be the part of the Nepali film industry. Although it has already been four years since she had faced movie camera, she told, it feels like 4 days. Sanchita had also appeared in a music video on mother and danced in a program in Malaysia earlier this year.

In the last few years Sanchita got married to Nikhil Upreti and gave birth to two children. In the past some time Sanchita was preparing for the comeback by shedding weight and taking care of her appearance. In the movie, Sanchita is featured opposite to Suraj Singh Thakuri.

Keki Adhikari family in debt, bank notice published in newspaper

Actress Keki Adhikari‘s name and photo was published in a daily for being a witness to the bank defaulter. Her photo and detail was published with her father, director Badri Adhikari, and her mother Laxmi Adhikari for their failure to pay the credit they took from Civil Bank Limited.

In the notice, the bank has asked the creditors to pay the dues of the home load they had taken within 35 days of the notice. According to the following notice, the bank will auction their house if they fail to pay the dues in time.

Poojana Pradhan and Shivam Pokharel in relationships

Both Poojana Pradhan and Shivam Pokharel have announced that they are in relationships at around the same time. We are NOT SURE if they are in relationship with each others or with some body else.

We have linked them together because, they were linked before too. Although Poojana had rejected such relationship, Shivam had clearly stated "me and my life" in a photo of them (see the screenshot in Nepaliactress.com) on November 19, 2013. At that time, Poojana had responded by saying that she commenting that it was only a rumor. Shivam had later removed the photo and the comment. His comment written on November 21 is still there – "Timi chhau Ra ta Sapana chha sakar Garne chahana chha. I love u my heart."

Sushmita Sen, another Bollywood artist in Nepal

In a week of the visit of a Bollywood actress, Raveena Tandon, another Bollywood actress, Sushmita Sen has arrived in Nepal. Like Tandon, Sushmita is also in Kathmandu to participate in a jewellery pageant. Invited by Classic Diamond Jewellery, she will participate in a two-days-long jewellery pageant and will inaugurate the outlet of the jewellery in New Road.

It is not the first time of Sushmita to visit Nepal. Last time Sushmita was in Kathmandu to participate in a fashion show. She has plans to visit Pashupati and other places in the valley.

Rekha Thapa and Nikhil Upreti together after 8 years

After 8 years, actress Rekha Thapa is going to be featured opposite to Nikhil Upreti in upcoming movie ‘Lootera’. The movie to be produced by the distributor, Gopal Kayastha, will be directed by Shabir Shrestha. Although Nikhil and Rekha have agreed to work together verbally, they are yet to sign a contract.

Nikhil and Rekha had shared screen in a number of hit movies like ‘Ae Pandit Baje’ (watch Ae Pandit Baje) ‘Dhadkan’, ‘Nikhil Dai’, Pale Dai (watch Pale Dai), Karmayoddha, Barmala (watch Barmala), and Dobato. The relationship had however soured in the last few years. Gopal Kayastha has played a role in bringing Rekha and Nikhil together again.

It is to be seen if they will still charm the Nepali audience. There was a report of Rekha Thapa to be featured as an item girl in an Nikhil’s film ‘Bharirav’ the progress however is not known.

Iku, Suleman Shankar divorced

After 5 years of living together, Suleman Shankar, commonly known as Iku after his character in a comedy serial and a couple of movies, has separated with his wife Jaya KC (watch ‘Iku’ here). Iku says that the failure of ‘Iku Back Again’ has something to do with the relationship.

Suleman claims that Jaya was having an affair with a boyfriend. He accused Jaya seeing her boyfriend when he was in Malaysia to screen the movie.

Priyanka Karki, now a singer

The actress had also sung a song in one of her movies ‘Awaaran’. The song titled ‘Chhopiyeko Satya….’ was liked a stepping stone for the singer Priyanka Karki. Now, she is planning to become a professional singer by releasing a full album.

Alok Nembang, the rising star set too early (photos)

The body of the well known film director and director of music video, Alok Nembang, was kept at Pragya Pratisthan for the last goodbye. Film artists, music video models and technicians and a lot of general public went to see Alok for the last time.

Alok had died after committing suicide at his home on Thursday.

Sad news, Alok Nembang committed suicide

Well known director Alok Nembang has committed suicide at around 8 PM today in his house. The Maharajgunj police has confirmed that he was found hanging in his house.
